Aloha 65 Ready-to-Drink Vodka Cocktail
We took an existing 27% ABV cocktail drink in Aloha 65
as the inspiration to bring a new canned cocktail to life. Working with Big Wave Brands, owners of Aloha 65, we secured interest from retailers and the on-trade within Australia to develop a canned version of this unique and delicious liquid.
Market
Australia is a strong RTD country, with a robust and competitive retail and on-trade market craving innovation, flavour, authenticity, elegance, uniqueness and above all - something that would make the consumer sit up and take notice. We were in play.
Process
Led by Koru Brands in the UK and Australia, the team utilised market and global trend data, assessed local market receptivity, engaged leading international natural ingredients and R&D specialists - Doehler
- international product and packaging design specialists and secured under-license co-packing and distribution with one of Australia's leading brewery groups - Tribe Breweries Group.
We began the journey in November 2020 - from creation of a brand strategy, launch and marketing program, and launched the first product from the range in January 2022 - a mere 14 months after discussing the concept wth the brand owner.
Launch & Growth
What came next is the tricky part - securing sales channels and stockists, as well as launching the product to the trade. To ensure success. our partners on the ground, lead by the Koru Brands Australian team, began working closely with key account retailers, particularly Endeavour Group, the independent on-trade - to create a mutually beneficial growth opportunities. Within the first three quarters, we've secured a listing in the largest liquor group as well as being stocked in over 400 independent bars and liquor stores.
Where Next?
We have already been tasked with creating 3 new flavours, varying ABV solutions and a 0% version within Australia - as well as preparing for launch into the UK, USA and Germany with a potential strategic alignment with partners in India.
